By request from a friend of the blog comes, from Pennsylvania, some pretty fair emo-indie rock, ranging from the mid 1990's to the mid 2000's......not a HUGE favorite of mine, to be honest, but I was asked if I had any of their stuff, and actually I appear to have just about all of it. Had to relisten to some of it in order to make sure I was remembering them correctly......prety much what I recalled, I'm sure i this is "your" thing you probably fked over these guys.....I really don't know a lot about them, basicall will just recount what I find online and my own observations.
First album "Understand This is a Dream", is, again, for it's genre (that is not a favorite of mine), pretty good....similar to maybe a couple other bands of the era that weren't exactly at the top of my playlist either, Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids, at least that is who it reminds me of. My memory, prior to refamiliarizing, was that album #2 "Emotion Is Dead" was my favorite, still would say that evaluation holds true, "To the Tune of 5000 Screaming Childen" and "Into the Dark" are better, I think, than anything on the debut, and they seem to have moved into more Green Day/Oasis territory......not the MOST orginal band ever, but originality has never been a prerequisite for rock n roll.
Seemingly after a lable change they released the EP "Music From Another Room,"nothing spectacular for my money, and followed that up with the decent "Love", which, just a guess and nothing more, is most likely the album the "true beleivers" would rally behind, and it is a pretty good work. Evidently they chose to call it a career after releasing 2005's "Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat"......
Sorry don't get to excited about them, as I said, this is by request from a friend of the blog, which I am happy to get out there.....I'm sure this band had a ravenous fan base, I obviously thought SOMETHING of them at one time or another since I had their discs around, and if you are a fan of indie/emo rock of that era, you could do much, much worse......enjoy, and leave a comment if you see fit. Links in a little while, Zippyshare willing.
