The Best Halfway to Gone post, ever

Halfway to gone were a second-line stoner/metal band from the early 2000's, somewhat influenced by Alabama Thunderpussy and some of the other southern/stoner bands...they consisted of bassist Lou Gorra, drummer Danny Golin, and guitarist Lee Stuart. They released a split with Alabama Thundrpussy which unfortuntaley I don't have, and afterwards releeased three solid albums, "High Five" (2001), "Second Season" (2002) and "Halfway to Gone" (2004).......all of the releases are quite solid, if you are a fan of stoner rock, metal, or southern rock you will dig these.....Sabbath and Skynyrd come through as the obvious influences, as well as the aforementioned Alabama Thuderpussy and Down....been a while since I've posted any good old teeth-kicking stoner rock, here we go, these guys were pretty damn good. I really enjoy all three of the albums, hope you will also. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a comment, as I said previously, I don't know where this blog is "heading".......more "garage rock comps"? more of a stoner rock direction? more 1970's punk? All of the above? I HAVE TO KNOW what you guys want, and I promise you I will deliver!


This stuff is not a HUGE favorite of mine, but it's pretty good, hard rocking stuff, and worthwhile if you are unfamilar......leave a comment if you feel moved in any way to do so.......and please, let me know what you wish to see/hear here....as you see my schedule has gotten a bit irregular since the start of the year, I'd like to get back to something like daily-postings, but I need ideas from the teeming millions!
