These guys from New Zealand put out some pretty good stuff over a rather long period of time, as is my custom, I think I will just concentrate on when they were, like "listenable" rather than post their 2010 album (I can only imagine)......they dickered around in several genres/configurations in the 1960's, releasing in 1969 the pretty fair "Burning Up Years".....one intersting this is that the son g"I Think I'll Go Back Home" is actually a blused-out version of Neil Young's "Everyone Knows This is Nowhere" and merits a listen. The 14-minute plus title track is also worth a listen......solid psychish-blues rock.
And so it would be, that their next album "Stoned Guitar" would be perhaps their apex, featuring their (I think) best known tune "Black Sally", the title track, "Midnight Sun", lots of blues rock guitar freakouts, lovers of this type of thing rejoice! This is a fine album which I still pop in every now and again.
The next year (1971) they released "Pins In It", it is not NEARLY of the quality of "Stoned Guitar", it does have it's moments, but this was a band with limited ideas, limited resources, and limited material, so most of what they released post-"Stoned Guitar" sound like sort of scrapped together compilations......still worht a listen, as is "Peg Leg", a collection of tapes from around 1975 in which the lads were dicking around with what some of us refer to a "country-rock" sound, sometimes even without gagging.
Hey, I doubt a lot of you guys know this band......if you do, fine, but they had a moment or two......if there is just ONE you wish to check out, "Stoned Guitar" is the obvious starting point, if you are a fan of heavy blues-rock (isn't EVERYONE?) this is a forgotten niche in history that could stand a relisten or two.

Please tell me what you think of these decent albums from this forgotten band of my youth...I type this on TUesday evening HOPEFULLY, Zippy converts the four links over night, Wedensday Morning I can post this with the links and everything will be really cool.....but with that damn Zippyshare you JUST NEVER KNOW. They did a FINE job with my Wire uploads, but jut before that, ONE of my Roadsaw discs took about five attempts to finally get uploaded....I don't REALLY mind, but I feel for the minions....you guys are the ones I'm trying to get some "new" or "New-old" sounds to EVERY day, and Zippy works more slowly than Even I myself do......I'll continue, however, to try to bring you the best in rock n roll, because I think there is a need for it. Please continue to comment, please continue to read, and if you ahve anything to contribute PLEASE do not hesitate to do so, be it obscure albums, or even demo tapes of bar bands/unsigned bands, I love them all and WANT them to get exposure (at least the LITTLE exposure that I can provide them with)....until tomoorw, I really, really, love you all and appreciate your continued reading, and participating in my blog.......NEVER dreamed it would have lasted THIS long, but YOU GUYS have made it so!
