The best Black Pearl post, ever

So, for whatever the reason, I was thinking about the greatest of all Rock Critics, Lester Bangs today.....and THAT in turn reminded me of a band that he loved (and, as usual, he was 1000% right), Black Pearl.......never ehard of em? That's your problem Chucky, they cranked out some top notch blue-eyed soul/metal that was YEARS ahead of it's time.....even scored a minor hit with "Forget It", frequently comped on anthologies of the era. The featured THREE guitarists (hear em?), Bruce Benson, Geoffry Morris, and Tom Mulcahey, as well as top notch blues belter BB Feildings, and bassist Geri Causey and drummer Jake Oconner.......they released but two albums, the self titled debut which features the great "Forget It", as well as LOTS of other soul/blues/metal shouters , and "Black Pearl Live" a TRUE rarity that yours truly juts happens to have a vinyl copy of, featuring great, lomg, jamming versions of "Goin' Uptown", and "People Get Ready" as well as lots more. These albums are ALL BUT FORGOTTEN TODAY (they are from late 1960's-early 1970's), but if you think you have heard it "all", and you never heard any Black Pearl, check yourself. Lester Bangs was hardly ever wrong about ANYTHING, and he sure as hell wasn't wrong about this. Two fine albums from a long forgotten band.....trust me, this is kick ass rock n roll, play at maximum volume and appreciate......sometimes history just is NOT FAIR, and this was one of those times. Black Pearl were fucking KICK ASSSS!
