Basically singer/writer Amy Gore and guitarist "The Hammer" (Marlene Hammerle) and a floating collection of bassists/drummers, the Gore Gore Girls cranked out some very underappreciated garage rock in the early 2000's.....we could compare them, I suppose, to the Brood or the Detroit Cobras, but I think they are more raw than those and definitley show soe L7 influenc as well....I really enjoy these albums, I hope you do as well.....The first album "Strange Girls" is a collection of pretty good L7/Brood style garage rock and roll, sloppy, simple, and pretty good....it rocks all the way, check "Hunt YOu Down" and "Getting a Room" among the others. Album #2, "Up All Night" from 2002 doesn't exactly show a lot of "growth" as is often the case with bands such as this, but they DO remain consistently rocking, for my money it is their high-water mark.....pretty damn good album. "Get the Gore" was their third (final?) release, and includes the entire "7x4" EP which I have, for some reason also included here, both contain maybe their best song, the frantic "Casino".......
